Oh my.... have I ever said how much I love to photograph newborns? Well, if I haven't I will right now!! This little guy was sooo sweet ~ he came into the studio all bundled up in his car seat, sleeping so peacefully...I just wanted to wake him up and pinch his cheeks! The session started out great, but not too long after the tears came! It's ok though...because baby Aiden was only a couple weeks old I was able to outsmart him...and so I did...I used a little technique I call patience and feeding time!! The last half of the session was so much better, he did such a great job for his very first photo session and we ended up with some amazing photos! Enjoy ;)

This one reminds me of those snuggles commercials....where they would have the baby in a pile of super soft towels.....ahh, sweet memories of the 80's...or maybe it's just me?!

One of the first of many weddings this season...and what a spectacular wedding it was! While the other photographer was with the girls in the morning, I was with the guys! I'm pretty sure this has been one of the largest wedding parties I have photographed yet...especially in the morning when the photos included the ushers as well!

I loved the colors they chose...a deep deep vibrant purple....and all of the decor at the wedding was stunning! The brides aunt has a real trendy Martha Stewart eye for decorating...so at the alter instead of a traditional flower archway she had three huge empty white picture frames with a chandelier hanging from the middle...
The aisle was adorned with candles sitting in tall dark iron holders (which reminded me of beautiful lampstands) decorated with a beautiful purple ribbon topped off with a teardrop crystal!...The ambiance was so romantic...

For group and bridal photos we were at the amazing Swan-E-Set Bay Resort and Country Club

Some of the details at the reception included a candy bar complete with goody bags to fill, beautiful tall flower centerpieces filled with grapes instead of rocks to add a splash of color and a beautifully designed cake complete with their initials sitting on the first tier....oh and not to mention a three piece jazz band who totally rocked!

I love being able to sneak the bride and groom away during the reception...I snapped this quick photo from below, while holding onto a studio light to help cast beautiful dramatic shadows...(not bad for one handed photography!!)

after some great music and dancing by all who attended...what a better way to end the night than with a stunning departure? They ran off into the night...after changing into another fabulous outfit while all the guests lit sparklers and congratulated them on their amazing day!

Well, it's been a crazy jam packed month of May...and now we're into June already!! I've been having such a hard time choosing my favorites from this (e)session...it was such a fun day, I absolutely loved getting to know Andrew and Jenn. Although I haven't blogged everything from their shoot....we did have some fun playing leap frog in the park!! I love finding out about "special" talents that people have! Well, it should be a beautiful (and fun) wedding coming up in July for these two and I am so excited for them...I may blog a slideshow from their engagement session since I had such a hard time choosing which ones to show you all...keep posted! Yaletown+Dog lovers

I just couldn't resist!! A couple of weeks ago I was in Yaletown for a photo shoot. We had just stopped off at Starbucks to grab a coffee (white chocolate mocha for myself...)and take a quick break before heading off to Robson to do some more promo shots for a huge conference coming up this September...more to come on that later!! Just as I sat down outside and put all my gear down...this guy comes strolling along with the cutest little dog ever!! I am a huge animal lover...especially of small dogs and cats...so I couldn't help but ask him if I could take a couple quick photos of his dog!! To shorten this up a bit...he loved the photos, and as it turns out ~ he is looking for a photographer to take some headshots of himself for his business! God sure works things out in amazing ways! I love the third from the top...he has the cutest little expression on his face!

History Maker Class of 2008 + "Delerious?"

Sooo...here it is! The conference was amazing (as I heard from every single person that attended). I was focusing more on the two classes I was teaching...so I didn't take the time to hear any of the speakers...and for that matter I didn't go to either of the concerts Saturday or Sunday...sniffle, sniffle... I was soo sad, but I had to get some last minute things prepared for class which was my first priority. However, I returned on the last day to take a group photo of all the volunteers involved with History Maker....only to find out that "Delerious?" was performing one last time before the conference was over!! I was soo stoked!! I had an all access pass and a backstage pass..so there I was - on stage photographing a very well known and respected band from England - "Delerious?"!! I'm starting off with just a couple teasers!

PS...I wanted to thank my most amazing husband for being so supportive and taking some photos of me hard at work!...He is still in training mode, so be easy on him!!

Yup..that's right...he's looking right at me!!..I think it's cause I distracted him though!! ooopps! I tried to be as inconspicuous as I could!

Ahhhhh! I am so excited...I just recently received an email and phone call from Pastor Ben Johnsons assistant asking me to take part in an amazing youth conference called History Maker. This is a huge youth conference held at the Prospera Center in Chilliwack, BC. I'll be teaching a two day seminar which I've titled "Funky Photography ~ Getting away from the everyday..." I can't wait! Invite all of your friends and anyone "youthy" that you know to come out - it's going to be such a good time. Some of the guest speakers include Mike Pilavachi, Jude Fouquier and bands such as: Delerious, Stellar Kart (whose music I love), Parachute Band, Revolution Band (from CLA). Anyways...best thing to do is to check it out for yourself! It's all happening May 16-19, 2008 ~ hurry and sign up!

I know what you're thinking...it's about time!! ahhaahaa, yes, I've been behind on my blogging...again! So here goes...You could never tell how cold it was outside because Nicole was one of the happiest brides I've ever photographed! Even though it looks like a beautiful summers eve, it was early November and extremely cold!! They both toughed it out though and ended up with some beautiful photographs in the end. I loved the park that Steve picked it was such a romantic area with a ton of bright orange leaves, green grass and a perfectly setting sun at just the right time of day! This was the last wedding of the season for myself ~ I couldn't have asked for a better wedding:) Enjoy some of my favorites from the day

David and Janelle...what a couple! It's too bad I haven't blogged their engagement session yet:(...the photos are awsome!...we headed off to Vancouver and had soooo much fun....the day was filled with waterparks, jumping, climbing and rolling down hills to say the least! (frequent blogging is part of my New Years resolution, hahahaa...so keep posted!) A couple of months later, they finally said "I do!" It was glorious, I absolutely loved the service ~ complete with flowergirls dancing to an African rendition of the Lords prayer..."baba yetu"...you have to check it out!...Back to the wedding....despite all the rain that fell, we ended up with some beautiful photos...although it's not hard when you have such a good looking couple who are soo in love with each other! ;) enjoy!

Well, I always consider it an honor when a previous Bluehaze bride calls me up and asks me if I could photograph her again! To me, that's more of a compliment than receiving referals...so I must say "Thank you Jenny"! The unity within this family is amazing, you could really see it in the way they talked, laughed and just enjoyed being around one another. It truly was a pleasure ~ Thank you again to all the Harvey's (and Dumais'!!) You guys make it so easy for me!

I am so excited to be a part of "Just for Moms" annual trade show being held at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds (Shannon Hall 6050 176 St, Surrey, BC ). It's coming up on Saturday, Sept 29th and the doors open at 10am! This mini-trade show has been designed with moms in mind, helping moms to connect with other moms and courageous women who are running their own business which sell products that will benefit you no matter where you are in your 'mommy' journey!

The businesses range from jewelery and fashionable purses, to spa services, childrens toys and even a casting company! Of course I will be there all day and I am going to have a "photo-booth" set up....it will be soo much fun! All the photos taken on that day will be free and will enter you in to win a free photo session! Any bookings made on Saturday will also be discounted ~ so you don't want to wait! Come on by, say hello, have your photo taken and indulge in some of the amazing savings!

As well, there will also be a fashion show and a giveaway including various items from most of the vendors, including a special gift from Bluehaze Photography!! I love giving stuff away for a good cause and being able to bless people! Admission is only $3 and all the proceeds go to 93.7 JR.FM's basic's for babies fundraising program. Doors are open from 10-4pm. Even if you are not a mom the invitation is still open ~ you just never know what treasures you might find for your own mom or someone else! Can't wait to see you there!

I just have to start off by saying that Nathan and Cassandra have two of the most beautiful and adorable children! They are so full of energy and life ~ the photo session was a big play date for them! However, they did take a break here and there for some formal portraits as well! They must take after their dad, Nathan, considering he is "one of Canada's most saught after celebrity personal trainers"....not to mention that mom's in pretty good shape too!! Thanks so much you guys, we had such a great time ~ can't wait to show you the rest but until then....here's some of my favorites!

Yay, we beat the rain again! The clouds were looking pretty stormy over Burnaby Mountain but thanks to all of our prayers they passed on by! The look of love was all over Randy+Karen and they were so excited to be getting married. I loved the beach theme at their reception, it was so romantic!

It was just a couple of years ago that I photographed Mark and Katherines engagement photos. Along with them came their beautiful daughter Rebecca, so naturally we took a few family photos as well! Now, you could imagine how excited I was to again be a part of their lives and have the opportunity to photograph their new family. This time there are four family memebers instead of three! Their little girl Avery, (of less than a year old who is an exact replica of her father) was along for the ride....such a little cutie!

Mark and Katie.....such a sweet couple! It was such a perfect day, Katie got ready at her parents beautiful home, then it was off for some pre-ceremony photos with just her and her soon to be husband (my most favorite part of the wedding day!). (
PS...Just a little sidenote: I highly recommend all brides/grooms to do this for a couple of reasons: You both still look great - no tears or puffy eyes, your makeup is still intact and the flowers haven't wilted as well the guests don't have to wait as long inbetween the ceremony and reception.)
Ok, back to Mark+Katie....the rest of the wedding flowed perfectly too, they both were so calm and collected during the whole day and Katie looked absolutely stunning as well! Not to mention, Mark was looking quite fabulous himself, I loved the color they chose for his tie and the groomsmens vests. Thanks guys for letting us be a part of your day! I really have so many favorites but I managed to shorten my list to these few photos....enjoy!

PS...I have to thank my wonderful assistant Frances for taking the awsome shot of Mark+Katie during the ceremony at the church and the close up of the butterfly....I love those two photos!

I had no idea how much fun our youth ministry at The Loft ~ Beyond ~ has when they get together! Until now of course... I had the privilege to be a part of the fun photographing an outreach they organized in the heart of Aldergrove. Everything was extreme....even my photography...I found myself laying on my stomach in the middle of the bike park just to get that perfect shot! hahahahaahaa. It's fun to get dirty once in awhile....especially for a good cause. There was sooo much going on from hackey sack, badminton, soccer, skateboarding, extreme bike tournaments, pop chugging contests, basketbal etc... I just didn't know where to start!....PS...thanks Janet for that last group photo ~ you rock!

It was back to my old stomping grounds, for lack of a better phrase! I say that because the wedding started out in Aldergrove and moved into Langley for photos and the reception to follow. Although the sun was shining (thank God) it was still a little bit chilly outside...so I must say thank you to all the girls who toughed it out ~ it was all worth it in the end....in return we ended up with some beautiful pictures!....heres just a sneak peak of some of my favorites from the bride and groom...

Well, even though it turned out to be a rainy day...we still got a ton of great shots! Thank God for undercover areas and assistants!...Frances was such a help ~ holding umbrellas and being ever so patient with me! ahhahaa. The bride, Kelly, was absolutely stunning, as was her soon to be husband. I loved her dress...it was so princess-like and beautiful...just amazing! The reception was such a blast too, really good food and amazing salsa dancing mixed in with some hip hop....I loved the dancing Kelly! So much fun...check it out

What a fun day we had shooting Mark and Katie ~ they are sooo in love! I can't wait for their wedding this year. It was a beautiful sunny day even though 'they' were calling for rain. I was also very excited to use this new place I had found, I was driving around one day just looking for new places to photograph and I came across this gem in the middle of New.Westminster....I just loved all the semetrical lines and curves this place has, so naturally we starteed off there and continued to explore some of the side streets. At the very end of our shoot, walking back to the car, we came across this beautifull baby store called "Chick Pea"....It was the cutest ever! We had a hard time pulling Katie away from the store window (of course I was photographing it all)....looks like there will be a maternal and newborn photo shoot right around the corner too!

Wow. I can't believe it has been soooo long!!! I promise to try to post more often! hahahaa. This shoot was soo much fun...even despite all the rain that fell! We still got out there with our umbreallas....and beared the elements. We would have put it off for another day...but there wasn't too much time between their engagement session and their wedding! We had a blast....even got a few smiles out of Steadman!!

Wow! It's that time of year again!! I am soo happy to have all my Christmas shopping done before the 24th of December! That is not usually the case....but I planned ahead this year! I thought I would post a picture of my husband, Steve, and I to send our thanks to all of you who support and believe in "Bluehaze Photography ~ Creative Photography by Christine Vantol"! My husband is my #1 fan of course, however I love all the feedback that I have gotten from all the couples and families I photographed over 2006.
Here's to the last photo shoot of the year, just before Christmas (on the 23rd!!) and tons of pictures yet to post.... Have a great Christmas season and an enjoyable New Year!

Ahh, a beautiful country wedding....set in the middle of the city!! Donna chose to have her wedding at a beautiful heritage B&B, Apple Creek, just outside of Whiterock. The atmosphere was modern with a country flair to it! The bride was sooo beautiful and so at ease the whole day, which always makes for beautiful pictures... Highlights for me were the 'special' unexpected visitors durring the shoot and the end of the evening when the bride danced with her father to the classic song "and I think to myself..what a wonderful world"...I can't remember the name of the artist....anyways, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about! hahaha. Well, check it out for yourself...

Such a precious time, Taz and her husband Melvin came over to my studio for her first ever maternal shoot. They had no idea what to expect but were excited and up for anything! Needless to say, they were both at ease during the shoot and overwhelmed with the printed photos...yay! That's what it's all about, creating memories that I know she will cherish forever....moments like this only happen once in a lifetime.. What a beautiful day this was....Crisp September air, warm sun and beautiful fall colours!! I just loved the way the girls at "'Imagine That' Events" decorated this entire wedding (www.imaginethatevents.ca). We had the privilege of sitting with one of the event coordinators(Sharon Liew)and had the chance to chat with her about how herself and her friend started thier very fast growing business. I am always fascinated with entrepreneurs! Anyways, back to the bride...she was absolutely stunning! I loved their form of transportaion..(trolly!)..so much fun..and how she used the asian umbrellas as acents when we walked along the boardwalk....so beautiful. ....well, check it out for yourself!

Well, it has been about a month and a half or so since these photos were taken but I still want to post this! My husband and I had the honour of visiting our friends Nancy and Adrian in the hospital just hours after delivery of their precious girl "Liberty". Isn't she beautiful? The father, Adrian, is the one kissing his brand new daughter on her forehead... Nancy ended up transfering this photo onto a mug for Adrians birthday...from Liberty of course!! Aww, her first gift to dad! So sweet! I'm glad you guys liked the photos...enjoy

Wow, it was a hot day in September! This beautiful couple were so much fun to work with. Full of laughs and so happily in love!! We did take a few brakes however, one of them was to make a stop for gelato!! Of course all parties involved were willing! Thanks you two, I had a blast!

I call this one candies and ice cream. The title for this wedding was inspired from the jellybellies that Jenny used as her wedding favors - such a great idea - and the ice cream that her sweet husband bought for us after the ceremony!! What a catch Jenny! We had a great time walking the streets of Fort Langley, laughing and just enjoying their precious day... check it out!

This wedding was soo much fun to photograph!...I know, I know, I always say that... maybe it's just that I love to do what I do best! The wedding was extra special for myself because this was the same location in which my husband and I got married just two years ago! Definately a time in every womans life that needs to be captured on film! At least thats my opinion!! I love these photo shoots because it is all about the mom to be. It is all about capturing the beauty and glow coming from a life forming within. There are only nine precious months to enjoy the excitement of pregnancy...the anticipation of what is to come...I love being a part of that!

This beautiful little girl was only three months when I had the opportunity to photograph her and her mother....such a precious moment. Children grow up so fast, it is always a joy for me to be able to create a standstill in time through photography.....every single square inch of this cute little girl was captured on film..from her head to her tiny toes and fingers!! Wow. By far this was the most fun I have had shooting an engagement session so far! Phil and Melissa are so full of life and are sooo in love with each other it is hard not to instantly connect with them! We had a blast down in White Rock....I shot photos of them as they walked along the pier, by the water, down the streets, inbetween buildings etc....
I heard the train coming and thought it would be a great opportunity for some "in the moment" spontaneous fun pictures. They were up for it too, so we ran across the street just in time to capture the excitement! The night ended well with greek food and icecream....mmm. Can't wait to photograph their wedding!...
